$8 vanity table?! - whaaaaat?

So my first project I have to share is a vanity table I finally finished after putting it off for 3 months. - I was just too lazy to figure out solutions for the things that didn't work for me.

So I put my creative cap on and came up with this. (:
So to start out this project cost me $8 total. Yes, $8!

In the house we found a small book case (we're living in Daniel's grandparents' old house) that had never been opened/used (it probably cost $20?) it was a plain wood, three shelf bookcase with adjustable shelf heights.
So while we were putting it together I figured out what height I needed each shelf to be before I painted it. I also didn't add the back to the shelf so I could wrap it with some wrapping paper before nailing it on. (Left over from Christmas) ***Make sure to paint the shelf before you put the back on!
The paint I used was just some left over antique white from a previous project (I'm all about reusing things) Once it was all put together I tried using it just the way it was, a plain shelf. But the top was too narrow to hold all my stuff and there still wasn't enough storage... especially for my blow dryer, straightener and all my curling irons! So for 3 months I used it the way it was because I refuse to spend $200+ on an actual vanity. That's crazy and I'm too cheap.

The top is a $2 kitchen cabinet door, that I picked up at IKEA in the "As Is" section, so now the top has enough depth to hold my makeup tray, some of my lotions and perfumes. Plus my double sided mirror.

loveeee my top. Now I actually have enough space to get ready and have all my stuff easily available. (:

To fix the lack of storage I really had to think of something creative... I couldn't make the shelf bigger... But I had to add storage so I came up with this...

Two metal mesh magazine holders from IKEA for $6. I think this is my favorite part now! All of my curling irons, blow dryer and straightener in one spot! Easy to grab and I can put them away while they're still a little hot and nothing will get burnt because its metal! Plus these two adjustments were SO easy!!! Just a few screws and a power drill and I was done

Hope this inspires you to be crafty in your own life, and hopefully it will be inexpensive like mine was! Just try to use what you already have at home my little love bugs

Blog number 3? Say whaaaat?

So if having a nail blog that I neglect wayyy too often, my fitness blog that I just started, I'm now starting a craft blog. Hello, I've obviously gone CRAZY! But I LOVE doing craft projects! I'm not promising to do them often considering I have my wedding in less than 3 months, a full time job, a garden to tend to (because I also decided to take up gardening this summer, something I've never had interest in before!) my animals to play with and of course my soon-to-be husband probably wants to spend some time with me as well. But I figure if I'm going to do the crafts I might as well share, right? - My first post will be my make shift vanity table that I put together because I'm far too cheap to spend money on a real one lol but I don't have any pictures currently, so I'll get to that once I'm home.
I also have a couple wedding crafts I need to complete, and a few other ideas in excited to work on once we start to get nicer weather here in the Pacific Northwest! (:
So stay tuned my love bugs!
